Are you a Runner or interested in Running? Over the next few months I will be posting a series to aid in a safer transition into running for newcomers and to enhance the programs of regular runners. The areas we will be addressing include: strengthening and muscular control, running progression, performance and injury prevention.
I wanted to begin the series with a few posts focusing on exercises to address muscle groups often deficient in runners. These can help build strength and coordination prior to starting a running program or help diversify and expand your current running program. Strength alone with not eliminate running dysfunction, so we will be included instruction on how to incorporate strength and mechanics to enhance your running experience. Below is the first of several videos planned covering some fundamental exercises to get you started.
